Iran filmfest postponed

The “Journey of Love” International Photo and Film Festival has been postponed.

The first edition of the festival was due to be launched on October 23-27, 2017 in the cities of Mashhad and Karbala, but is postponed to another time.

The festival genre is Arbaeen (the 40th day after martyrdom of Imam Hossein – AS- in Karbala), aiming at establishing the diverse aspects of the event, i.e. political, religious, social and epic, as well as exploring the martyrdom of Imam Reza (AS).

Among the themes welcome to the festival are ‘the Arbaeen march held by followers of other religions’, ‘the effect of the rally on the mental health of the global society’, ‘the effect of the walk on family atmosphere and children’, ‘the rally from a historical perspective’, ‘women and kids in the march’, and ‘depicting Lady Zeynab (SA) as a role model’.

Each year, millions of Muslims take part in one of the biggest marches in the world for the holy day of Arbaeen which marks the end of a 40-day mourning period following Ashura, the religious ritual that commemorates the martyrdom of the Prophet Mohammad's grandson Imam Hussain (AS).
